EaglesWings Food Pantry operates the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month, 9 to 11 am or until the food is gone for Jefferson County residents. The location is in our Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 290 E. Dogwood Street.
Food insecurity is a significant issue in Jefferson County. Almost every day, we come in contact with someone scrambling to have enough food to eat. Hunger affects people regardless of age, gender, or ethnic background. It affects people regardless of the weather of the day or the season of the year. Food insecurity is an issue that is getting worse, but it is a problem that can be solved – there is enough food to go around. And we take this issue seriously.
There is hope; there is something we can do. As the Old Testament prophet Isaiah proclaimed to the exiles in Babylon, “But those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
EaglesWings is a Food Pantry Assistance Program hosted at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello in partnership with many Jefferson County churches. We offer a balanced selection of food staples to qualifying Jefferson County residents on a regular monthly basis. Our hope and vision are to build on the mandate of Jesus by reaching out in a faithful, consistent way. We pray our efforts will renew the strength of individuals in need, and also the strength of our caring community.

- Over 17% of the population in Jefferson County live below the Poverty Rate.
- Over 58,500 people in the Big Bend Area require emergency food assistance annually.
