Greetings! We are so glad you found our web home and would be delighted to have you join us for worship on Sunday morning or Bible Study on Thursdays. We welcome you and commit to reaching out and seeking God’s word, mercy, and grace.
Our warm hospitality, with open arms, enthusiastic spirits, and gracious support, is always present. We trust that you, too, will feel the same warm welcome. From weekly Bible Study, inviting worship, fellowship opportunities, and community outreach, there is a place for everyone to discover who God is calling us to be. We hope to live together faithfully, seeking God’s guidance.
So please join us, and if you desire, we would love for you to be a part of our family.
Our Pastors
Reverends Brant Copeland, Bill Bess, and Harry Horne lead our congregation in worship. All three retired pastors rotate from Sunday to Sunday.
Brant Copeland served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee for over 30 years. He received his educational training at Rhodes College in Memphis, St. Andrews Seminary in Scotland, Union Theological Seminary in New York, and the Presbyterian School of Education. His first church was a small, rural church in Virginia. His second church was First Presbyterian in Tallahassee, where he remained until retirement in 2020.
Bill Bess served 17 years as pastor at First Presbyterian Church, Havana. His previous employment was as an organist and choir director at Episcopal, Presbyterian, and American Baptist churches in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and California, plus stints as a protective services supervisor, public school teacher, air traffic controller, counselor, and jet engine mechanic. They educated him in public schools, and he has degrees from Rose State College, Oklahoma; the University of New Mexico; and San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Harry Horne has served as a pastor and an associate pastor in local churches in Georgia and Florida. He was also a missionary doing Christian education and youth work in Grand Cayman with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Harry served as a professor of the Bible with a theological education program related to the Latin America Bible University in Costa Rica. Harry received his D. Min. and Th.M. in New Testament Studies from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, his M. Div. from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and his BA in Sociology from Eckerd College.
Our Pianist & Organist
Our pianist Johnathan Couch, raised in Ocala, Florida, is a student at Florida State University. He has a Bachelor of Music, Organ Performance, and Music Composition. He takes old favorite hymns for the church and turns them into a concert during the prelude and introit. We have members of our congregation who come early to hear his latest creation.
Worship Services
Worship services are at 11 a.m. each Sunday. Our services are traditional. You will not find recorded music, horns, or instruments other than piano, organ, and voices.
Mission & Ministry
A Ministry Of Outreach
The church is the home of EagleWings, a food pantry assistance program in partnership with other Jefferson County churches.
